Embrace Change

Genesis 32:9-12 9 Then Jacob prayed, “O God of my father Abraham, God of my father Isaac, Lord, you who said to me, ‘Go back to your country and your relatives, and I will make you prosper,’ 10 I am unworthy of all the kindness and faithfulness you have shown your servant. I had only my staff when I crossed this Jordan, but now I have become two camps. 11 Save me, I pray, from the hand of my brother Esau, for I am afraid he will come and attack me, and also the mothers with their children. 12 But you have said, ‘I will surely make you prosper and will make your descendants like the sand of the sea, which cannot be counted.’” Have you ever felt like your life is out of control, you have no sense of stable ground that you are standing on? You feel imbalanced making decisions do not come easy. So you fret, spend hours if not days struggling with not one but several decisions. Why do we do this? It is simple we want control, we want the situation whether it is good or bad to alway...

Born Again - Knowing You Are The Child Of A King

For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10 I am not sure if some of you reading this remember vinyl records or not. When the vinyl got scratched it was pretty much history. It would not play it would skip and well your favorite song on the album was ruined. The only solution was to go out and buy a new one. When I think of Jesus I sometimes think of vinyl, why?  When we are born into this world we are born into sin. This is because of our first parent’s it was because of them sin entered into the world through Adam and Eve. What was once perfect, in harmony, and played without a skip was ruined. One thing that is so hard now for me to understand is why people are so blind and prideful to the salvation that our Lord has given to us. It is a free gift and once it is accepted we are set free, and we are no longer in bondage to Satan. Jesus said he came for the sinners;...

See Saw of Life

Seesaw of Life  - Living in God’s Grace We have all been on a playground and I am sure everyone has played o n a seesaw (teeter totter). One person sits on one end and another person sits on the other end, ever noticed the middle though? Have you ever stood in the middle and tried to balance it? If you have you noticed one foot leaned more one way and that side would go down but if you balanced in the middle it leveled out. I thought about this today and I think we treat our Christian walk as if we were on a see saw. Why? Because so many of us do not embrace grace. If someone has read the Bible and knows all the people in it they will know that even those that God chose had some pretty messy pasts.  But get this...He still used them. From Abraham to the Disciples God took the most ordinary people with so much baggage but he still used them. As an example of what he can do for you when you accept His love and grace. I started reading “The Grace Awakening” by C...

The Mask I Wear

“The mask I wear” Author unknown Don’t be fooled by me. Don’t be fooled by the face I wear for I wear a mask. I wear a thousand masks masks that I’m afraid to take off and none of them are me. Pretending is an art that’s second nature with me But don’t be fooled, don’t be fooled. I give you the impression that I’m secure That all is sunny and unruffled with me within as well as without, that confidence is my name and coolness my game, that the water’s calm and I’m in command, and that I need no one. But don’t believe me. Please! My surface may be smooth but my surface is my mask, My ever-varying and ever-concealing mask. Beneath lies no smugness, no complacence. Beneath dwells the real me in confusion, in fear, in loneliness. But I hide this. I don’t want anybody to know it. I panic at the thought of my weaknesses and fear exposing them. That’s why I frantically create my masks to hide behind. They’re nonchalant, sophi...

More Like Mike

I have often wondered what paradise would have been like had Adam and Eve not brought sin into the world. What it would have been like to walk in a garden built just for me. The beauty I am sure is indescribable the most indescribable is being able to walk with a perfect God every single day. To have him seek me out...only to just walk with me. When God created us at the beginning he created 'perfect' beings. God makes no mistakes and trust me we were flawless. No pain, aches, sorrow, or tears. There was nothing but light then, no darkness. It was perfect beings in a perfect garden surrounded by a perfect God. Oh how we have all   fallen from grace, we have lost so much. As His children our desire should always be to getting back to that place with him. And we will, he just has a lot of work to do before we can be there again.   Today I encountered a young man that gave me inspiration, hope, and motivation. As my son and I sat at the drive through waiting on ...

The Road to Follow

Sometimes people think that there is some supernatural power other than God that can give us insight to the future. Inform us that we have made the right choices in our life and some Christians look to this as some sort of conformation. No one likes uncertainty, many in this world want to know the grand master plan of life! As children of a most high God this is just not the case, we will never know everything only until it happens! God has told us his promises, he will never leave us, abandon, or forsake us. Just that alone should comfort us. I have seen many Christians in my life that are not satisfied and on some sort of level disagree with God on this matter. They ignore the fact that he has even given us the past, present, and future already in his book! So….why do we keep trying to stay one step ahead of God? Today when my husband and I went through the drive through at MacDonald’s the guy wasted no time in telling us as we paid how he had seen better days. My ...

Green Eyed Monster

When we think of the green eyed monster we think of something that use to hide under our bed when we were kids waiting to devour us. In all reality in a Christians life it is almost the same thing. Once this emotion of jealousy gets a hold of us it is dangerous. Because that is exactly what it does it devours your growth in Christ, damages relationships, and hardens the heart. Each one of us are our own individuals, God created each one of us in a unique way to serve Him according to how he sees fit. We as His servants have to learn our gifts that he has given freely. Most people will go through life and never comprehend that it is God that gives us our talents. The importance of them to the world may seem irrelevant and I strongly disagree because these gifts can change lives. God has chosen something special for each one of us. Why is it so important? This is the only way we will ever walk in God’s will. We will never walk perfectly but we will learn how to use them to a pu...

Against The Wind

Isaiah 40:28-31 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) 28 Haven’t you known, haven’t you heard that the everlasting God, ADONAI, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not grow tired or weary? His understanding cannot be fathomed. 29 He invigorates the exhausted, he gives strength to the powerless. 30 Young men may grow tired and weary, even the fittest may stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in ADONAI will renew their strength, they will soar aloft as with eagles’ wings; when they are running they won’t grow weary, when they are walking they won’t get tired. There are days that seems more difficult than others. The hardest days for me are the days that I do not remember the pain of my past. It is the grief for my fellow Christians that do not live in God’s promises. How we block His blessings and blame the world for our loss when in all reality it is we "Christians" that cause our deepest sufferings.  I hav...

Perfecter of Faith

Romans 5:3-5 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) 3 But not only that, let us also boast in our troubles; because we know that trouble produces endurance, 4 endurance produces character, and character produces hope; 5 and this hope does not let us down, because God’s love for us has already been poured out in our hearts through the Ruach HaKodesh who has been given to us. Sometimes the weight of the world can become so heavy we have a tendency not to take heed to the words of the Apostle Paul. We take suffering as punishment we think we have done something that has brought the despair upon us. I am here today to tell you my fellow Christian this is not always the case. We as Christians on the very day we are born again step into a realm where the enemy is fighting day and night for our souls. Satan does not grow weary, he grows angry when he is not succeeding but not weary. He has nothing to do but what he is doing. What is he doing, what is his goal? To destroy our faith in...

Plaintiff or Defendant?

Plaintiff or Defendant?  “For this is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” Matthew 26:28 Have you ever sat in a courtroom and watched an actual trial? Listen to both sides of a story by counsel. If you have watched a trial live in person did you take a few and watch the judge? He sits in a robe up above everyone, and he has the fate of a person in the palm of his hands. If the jury finds this person guilty by the evidence that is presented the judge passes down the sentence. The jury sits to the side and they listen attentively to the counsel’s pleas and take in account of all evidence that is presented. One side defending the other accusing, now I ask have you all your life felt like you are the Plaintiff the one that the crime was committed against with friends, family, co-workers, your boss? Of course you have I know I have. Always defending your case because you think you are in the right? Imagine your life now as a cou...
