Cardboard Boxes

Ephesians 4:32 (NIV)
32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

When I was a little girl I loved to play in cardboard boxes, sometimes people like to contain their faith like kids contain themselves in a box. We have to remember that God cannot be contained nor can our faith. We as Christian's are to pick up our cross and follow Christ so if we have contained ourselves
or allowed others to do it how are we following him? How can we do His will?

I have seen several on social media that have displayed these characteristics it is a containment that is growing among believers. They try to pull you into their little cardboard box  because they are using God to try and control you. Mostly it is because they think they are the only true follower of the Word of God. This is dangerous and it can steer baby Christians that are not grounded in the word two ways they will turn on God or they will allow themselves to be confined. I cannot imagine which one is worse.

I am asking all of you to take a moment as you go into the new year and think about your Christian life what you need to work on, and what needs to be changed, and who in your life that is containing you this is so imperative. Because sometimes it is not the words we say or scripture we recite it is the actions of our lives that influence others. Does it reflect scripture? Does it reflect Christ in any way? Did we rebuke someone with a stiff finger or did we show compassion and grace like our Father has shown us? Sometimes we confine ourselves when we are supposed to be running free like the saved children we are. Sadly other times we lash out because a fellow believer has frustrated us. Or we have allowed others to contain us. Maybe you have lashed out when it was undeserved because you are so caught up in your mission for God that you have forgotten you have run too far ahead of him.

I have seen a great deal of this on social media I have been hurt more by fellow believers than I have by non-believers. It is a kind of hurt that saddens you because you expect a believer to know better.  Do not get me wrong I know we all make mistakes and I can tell you Christ has enabled me to forgive people that I thought I would never be able to forgive. But when someone can quote scripture and place it out there for the whole world to see and then their actions speak a completely different volume? Makes you question are they running free, trying to contain others, or serving only themselves thinking they are honestly serving God?  God will place them in his own cardboard box till they learn obedience, until then test every believer that what they are stating does not contradict with the verses below.

Ephesians 4:29-32(NIV)
29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

May the Grace and Peace of Yeshua be with you all!

You Are The Temple of God

Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in your midst? 1 Corinthians 3:16 The past couple of days we have covered fear and being overwhelmed. Today I am going to shift gears and talk a bit and talk about the scripture above. I have heard over the past few days pastors, minsters, and church leaders talk about how the restrictions in place is against their right to worship. That the building is the temple of God. As we discussed we are in uncharted waters these are times many of us have not seen in our lifetime. Our government has asked every one to stay home, kids can not go to school, parents can not go to work, and social distancing is in place for good reason. We are all in isolation this is not targeted to one group nor any religion. It is foolish for a church leader to want to carry on as if nothing is happening in this world. I for one understand the importance of worship and fellowship but I also know the importance of k...

Obeying God's Voice

Obeying God's Voice Matthew 7:7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Sometimes we are unsure if we are listening to the Holy Spirit and sometimes we doubt if we are being receptive to the voice of God. Years ago I was in that place, doubting whether or not I was hearing God. I have a favorite place in my home that I resort to, to visit God. Let me tell ya sometimes I come busting in God’s front door with both barrels blasting, sometimes I walk in happy, sometimes I walk in sad, sometimes I come in with so much confusion I do not know where to turn. Years ago I was in a state of confusion I did not ask God what to do or how do I do it. I told God I gave it to you Lord give me some peace in my life. It was only a matter of hours not days but a matter of hours he answered me. Now you might ask how? God placed an opportunity in front of me. He placed in front of me a moment that I could have obeyed or I could have ...

Scars

He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds, we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 Scars, so many of us have them, they can be scars that are very well seen or they can be scars that are well hidden. They can either set us free or they can keep us in bondage. When you understand that scars are not chains you find peace. Freedom, this word is used so much in the world it is something that almost all of mankind searches for. The most amazing thing about it is when you experience this word it is life-changing. There is only one way to obtain it and that is through Jesus Christ once you have it you are changed forever. Once you become born again in Christ, day by day things about you, around you start changing all for the glory of God. Now, I can sit here and state that life as a Christian is all sunshine and lollipops and if I did that I would not be honest. It is hard and in the Bible Jesus warns ...
